Baby Sessions
When to Book
There are no limits on when to book in for a session for your baby. I offer different sessions on an individual basis depending on what stage of development your child may be at. Please allow 4 weeks notice of booking so we can find a suitable date to schedule in your session.
When to Photograph
There is no limit on when to photograph your babies. However, it is important to be mindful of their different stages of development and what that might mean a session will look like.
I have provided a rough guide below of what to expect in regards to your babies milestones at different ages and stages of development. This will give you an idea of what to expect from our sessions when you are booking them in and what poses we might be able to achieve.
3 months: comfortable on their back and tummy, able to lift head with ease 6-8 months: sitting up independently, potentially started to crawl 9-12 months: baby is crawling, cruising holding onto objects, pulling to standing position, potentially taking first steps 12-18 months: baby is walking and climbing
The 'sweet spot' for baby photography is 6-9 months when they are sitting but not yet on the move, these are known as Sitter Sessions and can be brilliant for capturing your little one.
What to Bring Along
Anything personalised and important to you to be photographed. Favourite toys, blankets and keepsakes. Please bring any snacks and drinks required. I will mainly be using parents as a resource to capture your babies in their happiest moments, looking to you from the sidelines, so please bring your silliness along with you - the more the merrier!
What to Expect
Sessions take up to two hours, to allow plenty of time for breaks, outfit changes, feeding, nappy changes etc. Photos with yourselves and siblings are always encouraged during these sessions. I work around the individual needs of the child and want to keep them happy and entertained at all times. I understand that even as babies, we have our off days, and lots of reasons why they might be fussy. If we are unable to settle your child during the first 30 minutes of the session, I am more than happy to discuss rescheduling to another date at no extra cost. The wellbeing of you and your baby is my priority.
